Lake Tahoe - Part 3

Finally the last post. Tahoe was very crowded, and we didn't want to spend a lot of the day waiting in the car to get places. So on the 4th of July we decided to stay close and hang out at the park by the cabin and do some water games. It was a lot of fun. It was pretty hot that day, so it was a nice way to cool down. We ended up going back to that same park to watch fireworks later that night. The fireworks were amazing. I have heard that they are one of the best on this side of the Mississippi, and they didn't disappoint. It was 45 minutes of finale, and the kids loved them. D kept screaming and getting excited every time they went off. Here are pictures of the games at the park.

For this one, we stood in lines and had to fill up the bucket at the end of the line with water from a sponge. Some got really wet with this one.

Another shot of the game.

Afterwards, some of the kids had a blast playing in the water.

We also had a watermelon eating contest. Some of those kids can really eat! S still asks if we can have another one every time we have watermelon.

A look at the table before.

T digging in.

S was a little messy, and couldn't stop laughing.

C even got into it.

This is one of the other games we did at the park. We divided up into teams and raced to see who could wrap their teammate up the fastest without tearing their TP. Here is a picture of Grandpa Frank all wrapped up.

Getting ready to watch the fireworks.

The last day before we left, we decided to do one more hike. This hike was at Emerald Falls. The kids were troopers and had a lot of fun at the end of the hike playing in the cold water.

A few of the kids at the beginning of the hike.

Dad and the girls, minus one taking a break at the top.

We made it to the top, and it was well worth the hike.

S didn't get in the water, he was the only smart one.

This is C getting the top part of her head wet. Both her and T came out of the water barely able to breathe. It was so cold that it took their breathe away.

C's face after.

Here is T going all the way under, way to go girl!

A little shocked by the coldness.
