S and his broken wrist.

A little over a week ago, S was playing in a soccer game and feel backward. He landed funny on his wrist and ended up breaking it. We took him to the doctor and they did an x-ray, and they told us that it wasn't broken. They gave us a brace and told him to wear it for a few days. Then two days later they called back and said that a radiologist had looked at it and that it was broken and that he needed to have it cast. We were bummed. So we made an appointment with a orthopedic surgeon. That doctor told us that it was a small fracture and that he could choose to either have it casted, or keep the brace as long as he wore it all the time for 3 weeks. We went with the brace. S is really good about keeping it on. The only time it comes off is when he showers. I'm glad he chose the brace so we don't have to deal with a stinky cast for 3 weeks. Also he started comp soccer about a month ago, so with the brace, he can still play. I don't think it is bothering him too much either. He has been out mowing, shoveling dirt, and riding his bike. I guess he is one tough kid.

I think he is glad that he didn't have to get a cast, but I also think he thought it would be cool to have one. I'm sure after a few days with a cast, he would have changed his mind though.

S is playing comp soccer now and he loves it. He has already learned so much, and is getting better. The only downfall is that consumes our life right now. It is worth it though. This weekend he is playing in his first tournament. It is his teams first game together too. Their first game they lost 3-0. The didn't play very good at all. I think they were all so nervous. Their second game was last night and he played his cousins team. How many kids get to play their cousins team. He thought it was pretty cool. They ended up losing that game too 2-1. They played so much better though. Hopefully they got all the first game jitters out and will start to play better from now on. It is really fun to watch. It brings back memories of when I played softball all those years. I hope he enjoys it as much as I did.

This is a picture of S and his cousin. I love it.

A picture after the game. We teased them after about their uniform colors. S is a huge "Y" fan and his team is red. His cousin is a huge "U" fan and his team color is blue. It was funny!

Love it. And the uniforms colors crack me up. They should trade!
