September -Part 1

I am going to have to divide September up. It was a busy month.

We started off the month with a camping trip to Island Park (just outside of Yellowstone). We were very excited, and so were our kids. It turned out to be so much fun. One thing I love about camping is that you get away from home, and all the craziness that goes on there, and you are out surrounded by nothing; just your family and friends. It's so relaxing and fun hanging out and catching up with everyone. The kids always find something to do with their friends and love exploring and getting into trouble.

So A remembered a bridge that his family came to when he was a kid. He said they jumped off of it into the river. Once S heard this, he was set on finding it and jumping in. The kid will do anything. After driving around a while, we finally found it. It was really shallow, but A said there was one spot that was deep enough (you just had to make sure you hit that spot, and not the rock next to it.) Crazy!! Of course S was in. Both he and A jumped. The water was freezing, but they had a blast. I think they each jumped 3 times. Crazy boys!!

Here is S jumping in.

We also rented a raft and stuck all the kids in and floated down the river. They had so much fun. The current was not fast at all, perfect for the kids. They even got out a few times and played in the water, then jumped back in. Only a few people get hit in the head with an oar while we were trying to pass them back and forth between the kids. It was fun.

We managed to get in a few hikes with all the kids too. I'm sure people look at us like we are just crazy hauling around so many kids. But I wouldn't change it. That is what makes it so much fun.

There are also 3 babies that are not in this picture.

D is such a great camper. She is a happy baby and just goes with the flow. What a cutie!!

One day we decided to head into Yellowstone. It was pretty cold and windy, but the kids were great. We saw a few animals and lots of stinky geysers. The kids thought those were great.

Here's a picture of the family inside the hotel in Yellowstone.

The kids in front of Old Faithful. D was loving S holding her.
Hopefully soon I will be able to catch up with the rest of September, and the rest of the year. One day I'll feel like I'm on top of everything and caught up. (Yeah right!)
