On Thanksgiving the whole family participated in a 5k Turkey Trot. The kids were pretty excited to run in it, and they both did awesome. Skyler ran in it last year with us, and did a lot better this year. He and Andrew stayed together and Andrew said Sky set the pace and never stopped. His time was 30 minutes. That is pretty awesome especially since he never runs. Tay did great too. Her and I stuck together with the other two in the stroller. She had to stop and walk a few times and was not really happy in the middle, but she stuck with it and I was so proud of her. She finished in 35 minutes. It was so much fun doing it together as a family. The kids are already talking about doing it again next year.
Right before the race.
The also had a kid k after the other races were over. Cam was excited to do this one. Taylor decided at the last minute to do it too. She had just finished the 5k, so i thought she would be too tired. Taylor ended up winning the kids k. She took off and never looked back. Cam did really good too. She ran the whole time and never stopped. I think she was the first one around her age to finish. She told me that next year she is going to run the 5k, we'll see.
Tay finishing the kid k.
Me and Cam finishing the kid k.
Me and the girls. I was so proud of them.
Me and Tay after the 5k. I was crying while we crossed the finish line. I was so proud of her, especially for sticking with it even when it was hard. I'm proud that she never quit and kept going.
