Camping at Panguitch Lake

Over Labor Day weekend this year we decided to try somewhere new.  We ended up heading to Panguitch Lake.  It ended up being a lot of fun.  We went with just one other family this time.  It is getting harder for everyones schedules to line up anymore.  I guess with everyones kids growing up and being busy, it just doesn't work out like it use to.  Oh well.  We ended up going down on Thursday and stayed until Monday.  We did a lot of fun things while we were there.  On Friday, Andrew took the two older kids mountain biking with the other family.  I ended up driving them to the top of a peak, and they rode down 12 miles back to camp.  I was surprised when Taylor said she wanted to go, but was glad.  It was a little cold when they left, but they were fine.  I got really nervous when I got back to camp and a little while later it started to rain with thunder.  I knew Taylor wouldn't be okay.  I was really relieved when they finally reached camp.  I wish I would have taken a picture of what they looked like, but I had to console an upset girl.  She was actually better than I thought she would be.  I told her how proud I was of her, and that she accomplished something that was really tough.  I think it helped.  Anyway, they were all covered in mud.  Taylor had it all over her hair that had been sticking out of her helmet.  After a quick shower and some lunch, life was good again.

The next day we went to Bryce Canyon.  It is so pretty there.  It's amazing the world that we live in.  We packed lunch, did a few small hikes and finished with a 3 mile hike down through the hoodoos.  It's really cool that you can go down into them.

Looking over Bryce.

Walking down to the bottom.

Taking a little break.

One of my favorite pictures.  She was a great hiker, and wanted to be with dad the whole time.  Drew is passed out in the backpack.  She looks a little uncomfortable, but she slept.

Back at camp, the kids had fun playing baseball, four-square, and any other game that they could make up.  They went on hunts, bike rides through camp, and just had fun being in the outdoors.

Drew loved wearing this on her head.  She is so funny!

On another day, we found these caves that you can explore in.  You have to take flashlights, but that makes it fun.  We headed down into the cave with all the kids.  They had a blast.  It was pitch black and a little creepy.  Also there were parts where you had to army crawl.  The kids had a blast!  It ended up being a lot of fun, and we were so dirty by the end.

Me trying to squeeze through some rocks.

The kids in the cave.

The girls after with Andrew.

We also did some fishing.  We really don't consider us fisherman, but we try.  The kids think it is fun, I don't, but that's alright.  We ended up not catching anything, but everyone had fun.  We actually ended up seeing who could skip rocks the furthest into the lake.

This is another of my favorites pictures.  They are so cute together.

Sky really wanted to catch something, better look next time.

Camryn just loves posing.
