The kids are out of school for the next few weeks, and when they go off track, we like to go do something. Last year we went camping with some friends to Goblin Valley. This year we went camping in Arches National Park. We couldn't have picked a better weekend to go. The weather was great, and we had a lot of fun. We did a ton of hiking, and hung out and enjoyed being camping. The first camping trip of the season is always fun. It's nice to get out and be with lots of friends.
Here are some of the kids, not all of them were in the picture. I think we had a total of 26 people in our group, 18 of them were kids. We get a lot of comments and looks from people who think we are crazy for taking all these kids on all the hikes, but we love it, and so do the kids.
Hanging out under the "Double O" arch.
This is a shot of "Landscape Arch". This was one of my kids favorite arch.
D did not love the backpack this trip. She is happy in this picture, but we ended up letting her hike a lot of the other hikes. It just wasn't worth the fight.
Getting ready to hike to the famous "Delicate Arch".
S hanging out.
T hanging out.
C ended up hiking in her socks. The shoes we took for her were too small and were giving her blisters. She was walking so funny and looked so uncomfortable, so we took them off. Once they were off, she hiked the entire way, and didn't complain once. She has some pretty tough feet. We did get a lot of comments from people, but what do you do.
This is D hiking. She hiked well over a mile all by herself. Once we took her out of the backpack, she was in heaven.
Delicate Arch. If you look closely, that is our family under the arch.
Here is another shot of us, this one you can actually see us.
Eating popsicles back at camp.
