The girls birthdays are 6 days apart, so that makes for one fun week. I decorate the house, and we leave it up for the entire week. This week was crazy too. C turned 5 and when my kids hit that age, we throw a friend party for them. She was so excited, she had seen the older two have their parties and couldn't wait for her own. It was a lot of work, but it turned out great.
We started the week off with D's birthday. I can't believe that she is already 2. She is growing up so fast. She is so much fun, and has a great personality. She keeps all of us laughing and we love her so much. At her 2 year appointment with the doctor, she couldn't stop talking. He said she is talking as well as a lot of 4 year olds. We are so glad she is a part of our family.
Opening presents. She really got into it. The only problem was how long it took her. She would rip off a small piece and hand it to someone, then move on to another small piece. It was pretty funny to watch.
She was pretty excited about this one.
Eating her birthday cupcake.
Giving daddy a kiss. She loves her dad so much. She asks for him all day, and is so happy when she hears the garage door open at night. She runs to the back door, and yells for him.
On Saturday, C finally had her friend party. We invited a few friends from the neighborhood, and the cousins. She wanted to have a carnival party, so we went to work. We had a bunch of booths set up for the kids to visit. There were some games that I made, face painting, popcorn, and one of the most popular spots was the cotton candy. The kids earned tickets at the different games; and with all their tickets, they got to pick prizes at the end. It was a fun party, and it turned out great.
The kids decorating their treat bags.
One of the more popular games. It's like Plinko from the Price is Right. I had A make it, and it was great.
Her one request was that we have face painting at her party.
The next night we had a family party for the girls. We had everyone over for dinner and cake and ice cream. It is always a lot of fun to get together, and of course we had to get the cotton candy machine back out.
The boys enjoying some sugar.
Hanging out in the garage eating some cotton candy.
C wanted an Ariel cake this year. It's nothing fancy, but she loved it.
D loved Nemo when we went to Disneyland last month, so I decided to make her a Nemo cake. It turned out cute, and she couldn't stop talking about it.
The next day was C's official birthday. The kids were out of school, so I decided to take them out to McDonald's for breakfast. They were pretty excited about that. On our way back, we drove by the sledding hill by our house and we decided to head their next. After a while there, we came home for lunch and a nap for D. It was a fun day. It's hard to believe that she is 5, and will be starting kindergarten next year. She is her own self. She has quite the imagination and loves to play. She is also so stubborn. I'm sure one day I'll be grateful that she is so strong-willed, I just hope it is sooner rather than later. She can't walk anywhere without doing a cartwheel right now, she loves tumbling, and is really good at it. We are glad that she is a part of our family too. We love her.
