Our Trip to Mexico

About a week after Christmas, A and I took a week vacation to Mexico. His sister was nice enough to watch our kids for the week. Luckily the kids had a great time with their cousins, and we had a great time too! We hope that we can repay her soon!! (Hint, hint).

It was so much fun. It was a nice break from the snow and cold, and we were very lucky to have such wonderful weather. It was a perfect way to get away from the mid-winter blah. What was even better, was that taking phone calls and texts was a lot of money, so we didn't. We were completely cut off from the world (except for a couple phone calls to check on the kids). We spent a lot of time relaxing. This was one of our only trips that we didn't come home completely exhausted because we were trying to fit so much in. We spent a lot of time laying out by the pool and by the beach reading. We both finished 3 books on the trip. We did some snorkeling, sightseeing, and went to some ruins. It was a fun trip and we can't wait to go back!!

Here is a picture of our hotel. I miss those palm trees.

We went to two different ruin sights. The first was the Coba ruins, and the second was the ruins at Tulum. Coba was fun because they still let you walk on and around them. They have a bunch of different buildings and it is pretty spread out, so we rode bikes around to see all of them. That was a blast. It was amazing to see what these people were able to build hundreds of years ago. It was also neat to get some history behind it. We had an amazing tour guide who made the trip very cool. This is A and I in front of the Observatory building. Looking good on my purple bike. A on his bike. We had so much fun on them. This is me toward the top of the temple ruin in Coba. It was a long way up, but worth the climb. We saw a ton of lizards on our trip, and they were huge. A by the Tulum ruins. These ruins are cool because they are right off the shore. It's an amazing backdrop. A and his new friend at our hotel. Our hotel was pretty spread out, but we liked it. It was nice to be able to walk around and enjoy the warm weather. The resort was beautiful. This was my favorite spot on the beach. Does life get much better? Walking along the beach. It was so pretty and so relaxing. I'm wishing I was back there now.
