Off Track Means a Trip to St. George....

When the kids go off track, we usually try to go down to St. George. It is a nice break for all of us, and we got some much needed relaxing. It was so nice to not have a million places to run to, and to just spend time together. We had awesome weather. It was in the upper 90's the entire time; perfect swimming weather. This year we ended up going over S's birthday. I didn't know if he would like it or not, but he thought it was great. The only bad thing about going this time was dad couldn't come with us. We usually leave him home every year when we go down for a week, but I felt bad that he had to miss S's birthday. We called him while S opened his presents so at least he was able to hear his reactions. Since the weather was so nice, we ended up going every day we were there. It was a blast. We also went hiking, biking, played at the park, and played lots of games. It was one of my favorite trips with my kids so far. They are getting old enough to understand games and they enjoy playing them. We taught them how to play "chicken feet" and "hand and foot", and they still beg to play them now that we are home. We also went to Tuachan and saw "The Little Mermaid". It was so good. The girls loved it. They still talk about how there was water all over the stage. They do such a great job every year. It is something that we look forward to. It was such a fun trip and a great birthday. Now back to our crazy lives.

A shot of D and T

A picture from our hike.

Here are the kids at Tuachan. S refused to be Eric, so C had too. Luckily she didn't know, or I'm pretty sure see wouldn't have posed for the picture.

We had to wait in line for a while so T could get her picture with Ariel. She was so excited.

What a cutie!

All the kids loved jumping off the diving board. This is T doing a flip off the board.

This is C. She had to pose before each jump.

C jumping off.

Here is S doing a cannon ball.

This is us playing cards with GG and G-pa. My kids love their great-grandparents. They are lucky to know them so well. We stayed up past 11 most nights playing cards with these guys. They loved it.

One last thought. One of S's buddies gave him some bean boozeled jelly beans for his birthday. There were a bunch of different kinds. There were two brown kinds- one was chocolate pudding the other was canned dog food. The two blacks were either skunk or licorice. Anyway, you get the picture. So on the drive down, S wanted us to try them out. At first I said no, but then decided why not. I knew that he would love it. We ended up deciding that at least one of us had to experience all the bad flavors. So we took turns eating them. I ended up eating barf, baby wipes and moldy cheese. S ended up eating canned dog food, booger, rotten egg, pencil shavings, and toothpaste. Nana ate skunk spray (and threw it out the window), centipede, and moldy cheese. The girls didn't dare try any beside toothpaste. They kept telling us not to eat them and were putting their faces in their blanket. The beans were so disgusting and smelly, but we could not stop laughing the entire time we ate them. It made for an interesting ride. This last picture is S and his uncle eating a bean. Adam wouldn't do it unless S did it with him. They both ended up eating dog food. So gross, but funny.
