Camping at Payson Lakes

Over Labor Day this year we decided to stay close. Everyone seems to be so busy with their kids, and with gas prices so high it was what worked best. We decided to go to a campground by Payson Lakes called Blackhawk. It was really pretty up there and we had a blast. There were six families that went, which makes it fun for the kids. They don't stop at all during the day. The only time we see them is when they are starving and need something to eat. It makes it nice for all the adults too because we actually get to hang out and talk. The kids made forts in the trees and hung out there a lot. They also did some mountain biking and hiking. It was a nice break from our busy lives to be able to slow down for a weekend.

C and some other buddies hanging out at camp.

D hanging out.

We got some wood from A's brother for the fire, and it was a hit with the kids. They had a contest to see who could build it the highest. The kids spent hours building with this wood. They made chairs, tables, and ramps for their bikes--it was great. We are going to need to bring this kind of wood on every trip!

Such concentration.

He got his pretty tall, the only problem was he couldn't reach after a certain point.
