We were hit really hard with a crazy snowstorm early in the month. The kids were so excited. Any chance they get to go outside and play in the snow, they will take. It has been really nice this year. They have really loved helping me shovel the walks. Not that they are great helps yet, but at least they're learning. S is actually helpful. The girls on the other hand just make more work for me, but I'm hoping that me patience will pay off one day. Church ended up being canceled because the lights and the heater weren't working, so all the kids in the neighborhood ended up having a big snowball fight. They had a blast!
Here is S hard at work.
T loving it.
Check out how high the snow comes up on her.
We also made our annual trip to Temple Square. It is something that I really look forward to each year. It is so neat to go see the lights and the nativity. It helps us to remember why we celebrate Christmas. It is always a fun night for our family.
All bundled up to see the lights. What a good looking crew.
D is growing up so quickly. She is so much fun. She is such a happy baby and always smiling. On Christmas Eve, she finally cut her first tooth. She still hadn't started crawling, but I'm okay with that. Whenever you go get her out of her crib, she gives you the biggest smile and says "Hi". How could that not make your day. The kids love her to death, sometimes too much. The constant mauling drives her crazy after a while. But she loves it when they play with her. We are very lucky she is a part of our family.
She loves the bath. Most of the time she is throwing her arms up and down making huge splashes. She does this almost the entire time she is in there.
S had a Christmas reading and a talent show in his class right before the Christmas break. Most of the kids sang a song, played an instrument or showed an art project they had done. What did my child decide to do. He did his belly roll and "the alien". This is some weird thing he can do with his stomach. He sucks in his stomach and his muscles make a weird shape that looks like an alien head. I wanted to take a picture, but of course, the battery ran out when it was his turn. I was such a proud mom.
This month we also did our annual Christmas cooking day. My kids look forward to this every year. They always ask me when we are going to do it. We get together with my mom and my sisters family and bake and bake. We usually make fudge, carmels, suckers, candy cane cookies, and anything else we can think of. It is a fun day. This year T wanted to set up her easy bake oven and cook. We set it up and she made chocolate dipped pretzels and cinnamon bears. She had a blast, and looked pretty cute doing it.
We also had a visit from Santa at one of our family parties. I was interested to see how the younger two would be. C has never liked Santa, but I thought since she was 3, this year might be different. It wasn't. She wanted nothing to do with him. She cried and cried. D on the other hand sat right up on his lap. I think she is still too little to realize what was going on. She just gave him a funny look, and wouldn't stop looking at him.
