T's First Day of Kindergarten!!

Well, I can't believe that my little girl is starting kindergarten. It is a day with many mixed emotions. I'm am so excited for her. She is so ready to start, and so excited this day is finally here. She has been telling my all week how many days she has left until she starts school, and today she kept asking me if it was lunch time. She knew that after lunch, she got to go. She was so happy when we got in the car and drove over to the school. She kept saying "It's not just S's school anymore, it's my school too." This year they had the parents come into class for the first 30 minutes to help them figure out the routine. It was fun to see her sit at her desk, hang up her backpack, and get ready to start. When it was time for me to go, she said "See ya after school". She was great. I was a little nervous about how she would be, but it went great. I'm the one that is having a hard time. It's hard to see them go, they lose a bit of their innocence once they go through those doors, but it's also great knowing that they are growing up and learning.

We have a tradition at our house that on the first day of school you come home to homemade cookies, so I'm off to make some cookies!!
